David Bowie for Teenage Cancer Trust
In January 2016 the legendary musician and artist David Bowie lost his 18 month battle with cancer. He was 69 years old. In the weeks that followed, artists around the world paid tribute to David with artworks celebrating his inspirational life with depictions of his various personas such as Aladdin Sane and Ziggy Stardust.
I too felt the need to create a tribute to Bowie and felt it would be a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a Cancer Charity. I chose the Teenage Cancer Trust for the great work they do for children with cancer. The Trust also has strong connections with the music industry with patrons including Roger Daltrey from The Who and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.
I’m delighted that the Teenage Cancer Trust have included my painting in their Charity Ball auction on the Channel Islands in May. I hope it raises a large amount for the Trust and gives its new owner many years of pleasure too.
UPDATE: The painting was auctioned on the 21st May and raised an amazing £1,700 for the Trust. Read all about it here.
I have had a lot of requests to make a limited edition available. Please contact me for more details!
